陈凯博士简介

陈凯博士现任加拿大联邦政府环境部资深政策顾问，是农业科学、园艺科学、环境保护、气候变化、自然资源管理和可持续发展等科技领域国际一流的高级专家和学术权威。他师从世界著名园艺学家章文才一级教授，1990年毕业于中国华中农业大学园艺学院、并获得博士学位，立即受聘于中国南京农业大学，协调、组织和参加中国“八五”国家级科研攻关项目，后应邀去瑞典、德国和美国从事国际合作科研项目，做高级访问学者、客座教授和高级研究员，然后在加拿大联邦政府多个部门任资深官员。他有在五个国家工作的丰富经历，曾在高等院校、科研机构、企业实体和政府部门从事教育培训、科研推广、技术指导、行政管理和战略政策等专业工作。他已在国际学术刊物上发表过一百多篇有创造性的原始科研论文，引起众多国际同行学者的关注，并被<<科学园艺>>、<<环境与实验植物学报>>、<<植物生理学报>>和<<农业与食品化学学报>>等国际著名学术刊物聘请为特约审稿人和编委。他曾在国际联合委员会任职，荣获过世界银行、欧洲学术理事会、德国研究院、德国学术交流署和波恩大学颁发的国际合作科学研究奖及加拿大政府颁发的环境保护奖，并被美国政府评选为具有超众才能的杰出科学家。

A Brief Introduction to Dr. Kai Chen

Dr. Kai Chen is now a senior policy advisor at Environment Canada, a federal department in the Government of Canada. He is also an international first-class expert and academic authority in the fields of agricultural science, horticultural science, environmental protection, climate change, natural resource management and sustainable development. Guided by the world-famous horticultural scientist, Prof. Dr. Wencai Zhang, Mr. Chen graduated with Ph. D. in 1990 from the College of Horticultural Science at Huazhong (Central China) Agricultural University, and was immediately hired by Nanjing Agricultural University to coordinate, organize and participate in national “85” key scientific research projects in China. Latter he was invited as a senior visiting scholar, guest professor, senior research scientist to develop and conduct international cooperation projects in Sweden, Germany and the US, as well as a senior official in the Government of Canada’s federal departments and agencies. Dr. Chen is rich in professional work experience in several institutions of higher learning and scientific research, the enterprises and the federal government organizations to engage in academic education and professional training, scientific research, technical extension, administrative management, strategic policy, etc. So far, he has published over a hundred original and creative research papers in famous international academic journals, which aroused wide interests and pursues of numerous international colleagues and scholars. Many international first-class academic journals, such as 《Scientia Horticulturae》, 《Environmental and Experimental Botany》, 《Journal of Plant Physiology》 and 《Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry》 frequently invite him as a special reviewer and the editorial committee member. Still, Dr. Chen has worked in the International Joint Commission, and won international cooperative research prizes issued by the World Bank, the European Academic Council, the German Research Council, German Academic Exchanges Bureau and the University of Bonn in Germany, as well as environmental protection prize issued by the Government of Canada. In addition, Dr. Chen has been recognized as an outstanding scientist with extraordinary ability by the US federal government.
